How to look stunning in your wedding photos.
As you prepare for one of the most important–and certainly the most photographed—days of your life, you might be wondering how to ensure you look your best in your wedding photos. Don’t get us wrong, we know you’ll look good. But, you want to ensure that you and your favorite person get that stunning, epic kiss photo that will hang over your mantel for years to come? Or, at the very least, you want to know how to not look awkward in your wedding photos.
Here are 2 game-changing tips to help you look your best in your wedding photos.
Practice poses together in front of a mirror. This might feel awkward, but I promise it will be worth it. Start by simply holding hands in front of the mirror. Then, take an arm and wrap it around the other person. Keep moving from there. Not quite sure what to do with your hands? Throw them around your partner. Put that hand on their hip, shoulder, waist, or back. Creating points of contact with each other will help demonstrate your affection for each other and give you confidence in the process.
Schedule an engagement photo shoot with your wedding photographer. This is a great opportunity for you and your photographer to get to know each other. It’s also a great time to practice your poses together as a couple. When you get these engagement photos back, have a conversation with your photographer about what you loved and if there were any areas you were self-conscious about. This will help set you both up for success on your wedding day.
Maybe more importantly, here’s what I will do, as your wedding photographer, to ensure you look your best in your wedding photos and help you feel stunning.
I get to know you. Your photos should be a reflection of the two of you, accentuated by poses and locations that feel both winsom and natural to you. Starting with our very first phone call, through every meeting we have as we prepare for your big day, I’m observing the ways the two of you naturally interact with each other and making notes to ensure we capture the two of you in a way that’s so perfectly you. It’s my job to help you look comfortable and feel confident on your wedding day.
I bring out the best smiles (and laughs). This is the fun part. It’s so important to find a photographer that you can have fun with–one that will bring the best out in you. When you’re actually having a good time, it shows! And I consider it my job to help put you at ease so that your wedding day can be filled with smiles and picture-perfect laughs. This is going to be fun!
There’s plenty about planning a wedding that you will stress about. Don’t let this be one of them. Hire a wedding photographer who is so much more than a vendor. Hire someone you’re going to enjoy being around and someone who will bring the best out in you.
